Configure your mobile device (ActiveSync)

ActiveSync allows you to access your Kopano Cloud account on mobile devices and tablets, including Android, iOS (iPhone/iPad), and third-party email clients that support the ActiveSync protocol.

Mobile devices can be configured automatically using autodiscover. You only need your email address and password.

Supported versions

Kopano Cloud supports ActiveSync features up to version 16.1.

Supported platforms

  • Android: Native email app and third-party clients (Nine, Aqua Mail, etc.)
  • iOS/iPadOS: Native Mail app (iPhone and iPad)
  • Third-party clients: Any email client supporting the ActiveSync protocol

Adding an account

The setup process is similar across platforms. Screenshots below show Android, but iOS and other platforms follow a similar flow.

  1. Open your device's Accounts settings.
  2. Select Add an account.
  3. Choose Exchange.

  1. Enter your email address to start autodiscover.

  1. Enter your password when prompted.

Your device will automatically detect and configure the server settings. The account is now ready to receive push email.

Manual Configuration

If your ActiveSync client does not support autodiscover, enter the server address manually: web.myexchange.rocks

Platform-specific notes

iOS/iPadOS

On iOS devices, the account type may be labeled as Exchange or Microsoft Exchange. The setup process is the same as described above.

Third-party clients

Popular third-party ActiveSync clients include:

  • Nine Email (Android/iOS) - Feature-rich Exchange client
  • Aqua Mail (Android) - Configure manually using IMAP instead (EWS not supported)
  • MailDroid (Android) - Supports ActiveSync
  • Samsung Email (Samsung devices) - Built-in support

Some third-party clients may require manual server configuration if autodiscover fails.
